Rosie Napravnik captains the Girls team in the Shergar Cup at Ascot

Rosie Napravnik is hoping to make the most of her flying visit to Britain as she captains the Girls team in the Shergar Cup at Ascot.

The 25-year-old is riding high in America, finishing eighth in the jockeys' earnings lists last year, and is clearly the best lady in action State side at the moment.

She capped a list of already admirable achievements during what was a stellar 2012, encompassing a Breeders' Cup Juvenile win on Shanghai Bobby and a Kentucky Oaks success on Believe You Can.

Although Shanghai Bobby's Classic aspirations fell by the wayside in the early part of the year, it is testament to Napravnik's standing that she was snapped up by Thomas Amoss to ride Mylute in the Triple Crown races and become the first lady to take in all three Classics in one season.

Napravnik now faces a different challenge at Ascot, leading a side that includes New Zealand champion Lisa Allpress and one-time Irish champion apprentice Cathy Gannon against the likes of Gary Stevens and Kieren Fallon.

"I've just met my teammates but they seem like nice girls and while I don't know too much about them, I know they're dominating in their countries and hopefully we can make a really great team and go for the win," she said.
