Horse racing Australia: Winx may race at Royal Ascot next year

Horse racing Australia: Winx rmay race at Royal Ascot next year[Australia's Everest race] and its massive $13 million prizemoney pool is likely to keep the nation’s best sprinters like Redzel and Chautauqua from going overseas but mighty mare Winx is still in the mix for Royal Ascot next year. Redzel’s trainer Peter Snowden indicated that the TJ Smith Stakes during The Championships at Randwick next autumn and then a bid to win a second successive The Everest are the probably targets for the super sprinter who scorched to a sixth consecutive win in the Darley Classic at Flemington on Saturday.
The major Sydney sprints are worth so much prizemoney, there is no real need to risk taking Redzel to England, particularly as he is a gelding. The same applies to Chautauqua.
But Royal Ascot’s international equine recruiter Nick Smith is not giving up on Winx.
Smith has been in Melbourne for the Cup Carnival and met with Winx’s trainer, Chris Waller, to discuss a possible Royal Ascot campaign next June.
