Globetrotter Mondialiste Likely on to Hong Kong

Mondialiste Winning Ricoh Mile at WoodbineHong Kong: Mondialiste, who came close to his biggest win when second in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Keeneland last month, could continue his world tour with a trip to Sha Tin for the Longines Hong Kong Mile on December 13.

Trained by David O'Meara for Geoff and Sandra Turnbull, Mondialiste struck at the highest level when winning Canada's Ricoh Woodbine Mile in September and followed that up with a storming second to Tepin last time.

He has thrived since joining O'Meara at the start of the year and victory in the HK$23 million (£1.96m/€2.75m) contest would give the trainer his sixth top-level triumph.

"Mondialiste is enjoying a tremendous run of form and his performances in the United States and Canada have led to us seriously considering the Hong Kong Mile in December," said Geoff Turnbull, who owns Elwick Stud near Hartlepool and is keen to expand his breeding operation.

"He has really come into his own under the stewardship of David and team are once again exceptionally proud of how he ran in the Breeders' Cup.

"Mondialiste is a wonderful flagbearer for our stable of horses and we hope we can build on his success with the racehorses we are breeding at our Elwick Stud."
