Technology allows racing fans to connect with Keeneland

Lexington, KY, September 30th 2014 - Keeneland’s commitment to providing fans with technology to enhance and share their experiences at the track continues during the 17-day Fall Meet, which opens Friday. Efforts include an expanded #ILoveKeeneland social media campaign and an enhanced Keeneland Race Day App.

Keeneland fans can share their experience through the popular #ILoveKeeneland campaign, which encourages fans to connect through photos shared via social media platforms, and use the expanded Race Day App to assist in handicapping the races. The Fall Stars microsite provides a wealth of information for the Fall Meet’s opening weekend featuring nine graded stakes worth $3.6 million.

What’s new and enhanced for the Fall Meet:

·         Keeneland Race Day App: The popular mobile app provides fans with up-to-the-minute handicapping information at their fingertips. The app allows access to entries, scratches, changes, real-time odds and results, will-pays, expert picks and a betting calculator.

New are race replays, updated Handicappers’ Consensus nothing the “Hot Handicapper” for each race day, enhanced calendar and promotions and live chat with Jeremy Plonk of Horse Player NOW.

The app also includes a GPS-enabled interactive map to help patrons navigate Keeneland and share their location with friends, and an events calendar of all the happenings at the track. Fans can find more information on the app at KEENELAND.COM/RACING/APP. Download the free app inITUNES or GOOGLE.

·         Fall Stars Microsite: Everything you need to know about opening Fall Stars Weekend can be found at the microsite KEENELAND.COM/FALLSTARS. Fans can track workouts, watch video interviews with racing personalities, view nominations/probables, entries and more. The site will track Breeders’ Cup-bound horses throughout the meet.

·         The “Win and You’re In Challenge” gives fans a chance to win a VIP trip for two to the 2014 Breeders’ Cup World Championships Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Santa Anita. The fan who the picks the most winners from the Fall Stars Weekend Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In races will receive clubhouse seating for two, airfare, a three-night stay and Breeders’ Cup merchandise. ·         #ILoveKeeneland: To honor its great racing fans, Keeneland will continue the “I Love Keeneland” theme that was launched in the spring. The fan-driven campaign includes over 2,000 social media entries by Keeneland patrons. Fans can submit their photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #ILoveKeeneland. Images will be featured on social media and atKEENELAND.COM/ILOVEKEENELAND.

·         Keeneland Bet from Your Phone: Keeneland makes wagering easy and convenient with the bet from your phone option. The feature allows fans to wager without leaving their seat. Race fans can set up an account by visiting Wagering Central, located on the first floor Grandstand.
